Accessing Treo Informational Menus
From Provider Notes
Contents |
Introduction
The instructions below will allow you to access various informational and diagnostic menus for most Treo smartphones (both Palm OS and Windows Mobile). It is not advisable to use these commands to make any changes to your device unless you are sure of what you are doing. Rather, these menus will aid in troubleshooting problematic devices.
Hash Codes to use with the Treo Phone
Some of these codes work only on CDMA models, but most of them are for both versions of Treo.
- For SPRINT CDMA models you should enter "# # ..." before number the code
- For GSM models you have to enter "# *..."
- For VERIZON CDMA, enter "# * # ...", where "..." is the number code.
Enter the codes as if you are actually dialing the number from your Phone app.
Signal strength is given as "RSSI," which stands for "Received Signal Strength Indicator."
Very useful codes:
786 This the Phone Information Page. It tells you how many minutes the unit has on it, how much data has transpired, the warranty date, software versions, ESN, etc.
377 Displays the last error which caused a soft reset, and the program that was running, line number etc
Somewhat mysterious or less-than-incredibly-useful codes:
33284 This spells ##debug and is the CDMA phone info screen containing a bunch of technical data on your current signal and tower connection.
3282 Logon to vision data (spells "DATA")
633 Turns off the radio (spells "OFF")
66 Turns on the radio (spells "ON")
7277633 Turns off passthrough
744 Signal strength for CDMA models only (spells "SIG")
744625 Signal strength for Tmobile (Treo 600 only) (spells "SIGNAL")
774 Note: This command can delete all data from your Treo. If you do not have recent backup do not test this code!
Verizon specific
#*#000000# This will allow you to re-program the phone number. Use this if you are planning to sell your phone and don't want the buyer to see your number.
