Instructions for wired and wireless devices are the same for the initial configurations.

Windows

There are multiple ways to switch synchronization between Meeting Maker and Outlook depending on the model of your Palm OS device. The instructions below were based on a Treo 700P installation:

  1. Go to Start-->Programs-->Palm-->PIM conduit
  2. Select the Sync with Outlook conduits option
  3. When prompted, confirm that you wish to synchronize your device with Microsoft Outlook, and click Done when finished.

If your setup does not resemble these instructions, then you may need the original CD that came with your Palm

  1. Insert the CD-ROM into your desktop PC. A window should open, containing the contents of the CD-ROM.
  2. From the Discover Your Handheld screen, select "Install Microsoft Outlook Conduits" or "Change synchronization method" (depending on which device you have)
  3. Follow the instructions for switching synchronization from or to Palm Desktop or Outlook.

Macintosh

Macintosh users must use Microsoft Entourage 2004 in order to synchronize their Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Email with ISC's Exchange server and their "tethered" Palm device. Microsoft has included the ability to install Palm synchronization conduits with Entourage. Once you have Entourage installed and configured on the target machine and have completed any data migration, follow the instructions below to enable Palm synchronization:

  1. Go to /Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Additional Tools/
  2. Double-click the Handheld Sync Installer, and follow the on-screen instructions.
    • NOTE: You will need to make sure that Entourage is not running during the installation.
  3. When finished, Launch the Palm HotSync Manager (/Applications/Palm/HotSync)
  4. Go to HotSync-->Conduit Settings
  5. Select the Entourage, and set the drop-down windows to the desired configuration:
    • Set the identity to "Main Identity" in most cases
    • Set the various data types to Synchronize in most cases
    • Checking the "Synchronize Private Records" checkbox is optional
  6. Lastly, make sure that the Enable synchronization with these new handhelds checkbox is checked. This is important for synchronization with most modern Palm devices.
  7. Click OK
  8. You are now able to synchronize your Palm device with Entourage 2004
