Notes on installing Meeting Maker client on the local desktop without giving users admin privledges.

You do not need administrator or power user privilege to install the pushed client. However, the Authenticated users group (domain environment) or the \\Host\Users group (stand-alone) needs modify access to the following folders:

  • "C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information"
  • "C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield"
  • "C:\Program Files\meetingmaker"
  • "C:\Program Files\Palm"
  • "C:\Program Files\PalmOne"

If your workstation image does not have the appropriate rights set on these folders, then you can script modifying the security using something like Xcacls.
