Evaluation Questions
What devices does it work on
- Windows Mobile -> compatible with supported PocketPC and Smartphone handhelds running Windows Mobile 5.0 (see good.com for a full list)
- There are 18 handhelds, listed by manufacturer: [1]
- PalmOS -> compatible with Treo 600/650/700p handhelds running Palm OS 5.x.
Encryption level/type and other encryption details
- Supports AES 256
- Other encryption details
- Can specify folders and volumes to encrypt on Windows Mobile handhelds
- For the Palm OS you can select which handheld application databases are protected with encryption
- Documentation explicitly states that for both Palm OS and Windows Mobile 5.0 devices - "You control all encryption and bitwiping options"
- Can encrypt storage cards for both Palm OS and Windows Mobile devices
Is there device-wipe capability?
- Yes, bitwiping is possible
- Can bitwipe the handheld immediately
- Data erase or lockout after excessive failed password and authentication attempts or when triggered by a security need
- Can set a "wipe password" that, when entered into the lockout screen, engages the bitwipe or erase process
- Can set which databases are bitwiped when a defense action is triggered
Policy Information
- Can set password policies (see screenshot)
- Can password protect applications
- Can have admins create temporary password if user forgets password
- Can set device locking rules
- Approved applications - can create a list of approved applications to restrict what can be run on a device
- Can protect application launches (require password at launch)
- Can export policies to a text file
- Can import application and database lists into policy manager (Palm OS)
- Can lock down the infrared port, WiFi and/or Bluetooth communications, and can disable the speaker and/or microphone

- Creating a policy is extremely simple
- Appears to be easy to put a policy on a device but haven't tested this yet
