Sync Services in Entourage

Microsoft's implementation of Apple's Sync Services in Entourage 2004 is a powerful and useful addition for Mac OS-based users of Microsoft Exchange. This implementation requires Mac OS 10.4.3 or above.

Synchronize Contacts With Address Book and/or .Mac

  1. From Entourage 2004's Preferences menu, check the Synchronize Contacts checkbox in the Sync Services section. This creates a category called "Entourage" in Address Book.
  2. Sync Services synchronizes Entourage 2004's Address Book with Apple's Address Book and, by extension, POBOX Exchange's Contacts. This may take a while, depending on the size of the address books involved.
  3. If you prefer a one-time synchronization only, uncheck the Synchronize Contacts checkbox in the Sync Services section of Entourage 2004.

Synchronize Events & Tasks With iCal and/or .Mac

  1. From Microsoft Entourage 2004's Preferences menu, check the Synchronize Events and Tasks checkbox in the Sync Services section. This creates a calendar called "Entourage" in iCal.
  2. Sync Services synchronizes the Entourage 2004 calendar with Apple's iCal and, by extension, POBOX Exchange's Calendar. This may take a while, depending on the size of the calendar.
  3. If you prefer a one-time synchronization only, uncheck the Synchronize Events and Tasks checkbox in the Sync Services section of Entourage 2004.

Synchronize Notes With .Mac

  1. From Microsoft Entourage 2004's Preferences menu, check the Synchronize Entourage Notes checkbox in the Sync Services section. An Entourage Notes category will be created in the .Mac Sync pane in System Preferences.
  2. Sync Services synchronizes Entourage 2004's Notes. This may take a while, depending on the number of notes. These Notes will now available in any other system with Entourage that is synchronized to the same .Mac account.
  3. If you prefer a one-time synchronization only, uncheck the Synchronize Entourage Notes checkbox in the Sync Services section of Entourage 2004.
