User Migration

General information on migration from Zimbra's site: Zimbra's User Migration Articles

Calendar

  1. Can I import my existing calendar into Zimbra?
    • Exchange migration tool and PST import wizard
    • The basic procedure is this:
      1. Export calendar or contact data from your existing application into a csv or ics file
      2. Migrate that data file to a host that can access the zimbra server
      3. Use the REST interface to insert the data into Zimbra
        • Go to the Zimbra web interface, select Preferences-->Address Book (for example), and use the Import tool to choose the previously exported .csv file
  2. How can I share my calendar? Can I share it with Exchange users?
  3. Can I use Outlook to see and change my Zimbra Calendar?
  4. Can I use Lightning or Sunbird with Zimbra Calendar?
  5. How do I create a Delegate?
  6. How do I use Meeting Maker in conjunction with Zimbra Calendaring?

Address Book and Global Address List (GAL)

  1. How do I share my address book?
    • From within the Zimbra web interface, select your contacts. Right click on your contacts (on the left side of the page), and select Share Contacts from the dropdown menu. Enter the email address of the user you wish to share with, and select the options as appropriate.
    • Expand this in a separate document
  2. What is a GAL?
    • GAL = Global Address List. Currently this is the list of users that are currently on the Zimbra server.
  3. Is there interoperability between the Zimbra GAL and the Exchange GAL?
    • There is no interoperability at this time

Briefcase

  1. What is the Briefcase?
  2. Does the Briefcase use the same quota as email?
  3. Can I share my Briefcase?
