http://support.uidaho.edu/FAQ/Exchange/

   - includes instructions for migrating from POP in various clients

http://www.uis.harvard.edu/support_services/ADExchange/

   - a lot of good stuff at several levels
      - communication regarding what's happening
      - recommendations on how to prepare
      - a bunch of Entourage user docs
      - stuff geared for folks moving off of Eudora (both Mac and Win)

These sites may have stuff we can repackage:

Additional Documentation needs

  • Merging discrete email, MMXP, Apple Address Book, and PDA contacts (Bob D – CHANGED)
  • Sync Services in Entourage (This may already be written – check with Bob D)

From Discussion with Mike: Per our discussion from this morning, I’ve asked you to develop some additional documentation in support of Exchange migration. The documentation in question is:

  • Making local backups
  • Thunderbird
  • Entourage
  • Outlook 2003
  • Outlook 2007
  • MMXP

In essence, these should be instructions on how to create back up copies of things like the MMXP database, .pst files, local mail folders, configuration information, and contact information. The purpose of these documents will be:

  • To help users backup data prior to its migration to ensure that a copy is available for recovery in the event of a bad migration
  • To help users backup data from Exchange supported clients for quick recovery in the event of a catastrophic corruption etc

Please feel free to let me know if you have questions or concerns regarding this request
