SD Card Lock and Power Drain
"The issue is that WM5 with an SD card apparently causes the unit to not turn on after being off "awhile". This is somehow also related to ActiveSync. Once it goes off in this way, a soft-reset is required to power-up. Battery drain apparently can be heavy when off in this way."
- from the Brighthand forums
NOTE: I have noticed significant power drain while my 700w is idle overnight. I had assumed that the EV/DO connection drained the battery down quickly. I will try to eject the SD card when I put it down for the evening and see if this makes any difference. --Bob DeSilets 16:34, 19 April 2006 (EDT)
This problem seems to have been resolved with the latest firmware update. --Bob DeSilets 15:49, 8 March 2007 (EST)
There is still no native synchronization option for WM5 devices and Meeting Maker. We have a workaround document in place in the meantime.
802.1x
There is indication now with the AKU2 update to Windows Mobile 5, that 802.1x with various authentication modes does work. This has not yet been tested, but information can be found on the Secure W2 site
Outlook Mobile
From a Treo 700w user:
If the email client fails to connect to a POP mail server or complete a send/receive session (seemingly for any reason including loss of signal, another email client is checking against the same box preventing mailbox lock, etc), Outlook Mobile displays a warning saying that mail can not be sent or received.
Until the warning is cleared, no mail is sent or received.
Upon clearing this warning, assuming connection problems are resolved, ability to receive inbound mail resumes. Messages already queued in the Outbox and any new outbound mail, however, will not be sent and no further warnings are given.
To resolve, user must either reboot the phone using the reset button in the battery compartment, or step through the email account setup wizard (without making any changes).
